Dubuffet and ART BRUT: The Art of Outsiders at MUDEC Museum of Cultures until February 16, 2025
The exhibition Dubuffet e l’Art Brut at the Mudec di Milano tells the extraordinary expressive power of the Art Brut, an artistic and revolutionary view from which many contemporary artists have drawn inspiration and which still continues to be vital today.
The exhibition is made possible thanks to the collaboration with the Collection de l’Art Brut in Lausanne, which owns an extraordinary collection of over 70,000 artworks born from the nucleus of the exceptional donation made by Dubuffet to the City of Lausanne in 1971. Drawings, paintings, sculptures and textile works, which continue to grow today thanks to purchases and donations from new authors.
Munch The inner scream at Palazzo Reale until the 26th of January 2025
After 40 years since the last exhibition in Milano, Edvard Munch is back in Italy with a huge exhibtion, Munch the inner scream at Palazzo Reale in Milan.
Realized in collaboration with the MUNCH Museum in Oslo, the most recent story tells all about the artist’s universe, it has a percorso human and its production thanks to a percorso di 100 opere, tra cui una delle versioni lithographe de L’Urlo (1895) custodite a Oslo, La morte di Marat (1907), Notte stellata (1922–1924), Le ragazze sul ponte (1927), Malinconia (1900–1901) e Danza sulla spiaggia (1904).
THE HORSE, THE MAZZOCCHIO AND THE MASTER’S FACE at the Leonardo3 Museum until February 15, 2025
IL CAVALLO, IL MAZZOCCHIO E IL VOLTO DEL MAESTRO. Disegni milanesi di Leonardo da Vinci e Francesco Melzi at the Museo Leonardo3 focuses on a small group of drawings that highlight the close and synergic bond between da Vinci and the city of Milan: the same bond that is a fundamental part of the Museum’s mission.
The exhibition is also an opportunity to focus on the mazzocchio, a very complex perspective projection, whose design composed of 32 octagonal sections is kept in the Atlantic Codex.
Jean Tinguely at Pirelli Hangar Bicocca until February 2, 2025
Pirelli HangarBicocca presents – from October the 10th 2024 to February the 2nd 2025 – “Jean Tinguely”, the most extensive retrospective held in Italy after the artist’s death, created in collaboration with the Museo Tinguely di Basilea.
The exhibition highlights the experimental nature of Jean Tinguely, one of the artists who have shaped the history of 20th-century art, underlining his relevance in the present and his contemporary value even today.
Il Magistretti Inglese at the Fondazione Vico Magistretti untile the 27th of February 2025
The exhibition The English Magistretti at the Vico Magistretti Foundation explores and delves into the relationship between Vico and the United Kingdom: the projects, correspondence, collaborations, conferences and awards, but also the works and memories of his students at the Royal College of Art in London.
The exhibtion tells – trough letters, drawings, photographs and notes from the Studio Magistretti archive and not only that – of a design and cultural affinity, which goes well beyond the well-known role of visiting professor assumed by Vico in 1979 at the Royal College of Art.
