Following the great success of the exhibtion about Van Gogh in Palazzo Bonaparte in Rome, from 22nd February 2024 the dutch genius will be in Trieste, at the Museo Revoltella.
The exhibition includes more than 50 Van Gogh’s masterpieces, from the Kroller Muller Musuem in Otterlo, which holds one of the artist’s largest collection.
The exhibtion itinerary
As well as in Rome, also in Trieste will be presented the whole painter’s artistic itinerary.
Starting from the dark landscapes of his youth, passing through the drawings and oils dedicated to the theme of the weavers, to finally conclude with the canvases created during his stay in Paris and the last paintings of St. Remy and Auvers-Sur-Oise, where he took his life – as sadly everyone knows – at 37 years old.
Extraordinary masterpieces
The Van Gogh exhibition in Trieste will be enriched by two other particularly significant canvas created by the artist in 1890.
We’re talking about the Monsieur and Madame Ginoux portraits, respectively owned by the Kroller Muller in Otterlo and the Galleria Nazionale in Rome.
Ginoux were the owners of the Café de la Gare in Arles where Van Gogh was used to go. Vincent also rented the Yellow House from them and Mrs Ginoux herself looked after him after the ear cutting episode.
The two canvas will be reunited, for this the exhibition, after 134 years.
The exhibition is open until 30 June 2024.
