Emilio Vedova returns home or rather a few kilometers away, with the exhibition Rivoluzione Vedova, from tomorrow May 5 to November 26 at the M9 Museum in Mestre.
The Museum M9 hosts the great Venetian painter in a retrospective dedicated to him.

Vedova, Father of Venetian Painting
Emilio Vedova, considered one of the leading exponents of Venetian painting, was born in Venice on August 9, 1919 to a family of artisan-workers and began working intensively as a self-taught artist from the 1930s.
He certainly had a full and eventful life that coincided with the post-war years, marked by great political and cultural ferment; he was anti-fascist and participated in the Resistance between 1944 and 1945.
In 1946, he signed the manifesto “Beyond Guernica” in Milano, and in the same year in Venice, he was among the founders of the Nuova Secessione Italiana, which later became the Fronte Nuovo delle Arti.
In the early 1950s, he created his famous series of works: Clash of Situations, Cycle of Protest, Cycle of Nature.
From 1961, he worked on the Plurimi, first those in Venice and then those created in Berlin between 1963 and 1964.

Rivoluzione Vedova
Rivoluzione Vedova at the M9 Museum in Mestre includes 130 works that present to the visitor art and history between the 20th and 21st centuries, a period filled with political and cultural events.
Rivoluzione Vedova is structured in two levels.
On one side, painting and the sign are the protagonists; on the other, the history of those years becomes the protagonist with works arranged in chronological sequence.
