Through his black and white portraits and his war and travel reports, he made known to the world not only the horror and misery of the many armed conflicts that characterized the last century and the faces of the men and women who made History, but also the everyday life made up of small moments of joy and desire for redemption, of present and future, of reality and dreams of ordinary people.

Bruce Nauman Neon Corridors Rooms at Pirelli Hangar Bicocca until February 26, 2023
Bruce Nauman Neon Corridors Rooms is an exhibition organized by Pirelli HangarBicocca, the Tate Modern, and the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.
Bruce Nauman has marked the history of contemporary art from the mid-1960s to today, with pioneering research that spans various media: installation, video, sculpture, performance, photography, drawing, and sound.
His artistic production shows a unique interest in understanding the human experience, its conventions, and the deeper aspects of the psyche, explored through the perception of the body, the relationship with space, time, and language.
Together with several works already exhibited in London and Amsterdam, the exhibition also includes a considerable selection of his famous corridors and rooms. Highlighting the relationships, developments, and formal variations, the exhibition will explore for the first time in their entirety the experiments carried out by Nauman in terms of spatial experience, architectural approach, use of light, sound, language, and video.

The Seduction of Beauty from October 15 to March 12, 2023
The Bagatti Valsecchi Museum in Milan presents a selection of paintings from the Gastaldi Rotelli collection in the grand exhibition titled The Seduction of Beauty. Secret Masterpieces.
This exhibition features fifty masterpieces in dialogue with the eclectic permanent collection from the 16th and 17th centuries assembled by brothers Fausto and Giuseppe Bagatti Valsecchi. With this exhibition, the House Museum positions itself as a “House of Collections,” creating an interesting and unprecedented reflection on the role of private collecting, its history, and the consequent enhancement and enjoyment in contemporary times.
Gilda Gastaldi and Giuseppe Rotelli have gathered an exceptional core of paintings, participating in auctions worldwide and traveling in constant search of precious artworks, just as the brothers Fausto and Giuseppe Bagatti Valsecchi did before them. This exhibition connects two important collections, expressions and portraits of their creators, reflecting their desire to live surrounded by art and beauty.
On display are works by Giulio Cesare Procaccini, Giuseppe Vermiglio, Tanzio da Varallo, and Francesco Cairo, Alessandro Magnasco, Giacomo Francesco Cipper known as il Todeschini, and Bernardo Strozzi, Michele Marieschi, Luca Carlevaris, and Francesco Guardi, up to Monsù Be.

Andrea Bowers Moving in Space without Asking Permission at GAM – Galleria d’Arte Moderna di Milano until December 18, 2022
Moving in Space without Asking Permission at the GAM – Galleria d’Arte Moderna di Milano is the first solo exhibition of Andrea Bowers in an Italian institution.
Moving in Space without Asking Permission offers an immersive experience into the artist’s work and her commitment to the fight for gender equality, women’s emancipation, workers’ rights, immigration, and environmentalism.
Her ability to convey complex issues in an accessible and direct vocabulary is a perfect example of how art can, through the aesthetic power of its languages, convey socially relevant messages.
The exhibition Moving in Space without Asking Permission is part of a broader reflection on feminism that Bowers has long pursued, focusing particularly on the relationship between feminism and bodily autonomy, with an eye to both the present and the history of our country. Moving in Space without Asking Permission takes its cue from the artist’s engagement with some contemporary Italian feminist experiences, such as her work with philosopher and activist Alessandra Chiricosta.
