Palazzo Albergati hosts the photographic exhibition Photos, until September 4, 2022.

Bologna welcomes, for the first time in Italy, the extraordinary Julián Castilla Collection, owned by the Spanish collector of the same name.

Recognized as one of the most important private collections in the world, it includes artists of the caliber of Alfred Stieglitz, Man Ray, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Vivian Maier, Robert Capa, André Kertész, Alberto Korda, and Robert Doisneau.

Photos includes 70 works, most of which are black and white, telling the story of photography: from the creation of the Magnum Agency and the development of photojournalism, through the evolution of fashion photography, to the narrative of the present, and the contemporary challenges in the digital age.

NIVOLA AND NEW YORK. From the Olivetti Showroom to the Incredible City at the Nivola Museum until July 15, 2022

Italy and America meet in Sardinia, in Orani, at the Nivola Museum.

The exhibition NIVOLA AND NEW YORK. From the Olivetti Showroom to the Incredible City showcases the work of Costantino Nivola, a Sardinian sculptor who emigrated to the United States in 1939 for anti-fascist reasons.

Nivola, known as the sculptor for architecture, created the relief for the Olivetti showroom in New York in 1954, marking the beginning of Made in Italy across the ocean.

The monumental semi-abstract frieze is now at the center of the exhibition.

NIVOLA AND NEW YORK. From the Olivetti Showroom to the Incredible City also explores the sculptor’s relationship with the American city, which was at the time incredible and wonderful, and whose unmistakable urban landscape would indelibly influence Nivola’s artistic production.

Donatello. The Renaissance at Palazzo Strozzi until July 31, 2022

Inaugurated on March 19, Donatello. The Renaissance is on display at Palazzo Strozzi, Florence, until July 31, 2022.

Donatello returns to the city that was always friendly to him and where he found immediate support from the Medici. It was here that he began the extraordinary season of the Renaissance.

Donatello. The Renaissance presents itself as a dialogue between Donatello himself and other contemporary artists such as Brunelleschi, Masaccio, Mantegna, Bellini, Raphael and Michelangelo.

The sculptures on display, coming from about sixty international institutions, symbolize the very idea of sculpture, with a unique vision power that merges discoveries about perspective and a totally modern concept of humanity. The psychological dimension of Donatello’s art embraces the diverse forms of emotions in all their depth, from sweetness to cruelty, from joy to the most heartbreaking pain.

The Walls of Wonders. Court Fabrics between the Gonzaga and Europe at Palazzo Te until June 26, 2022

The Walls of Wonders. Court Leathers between the Gonzagas and Europe is the exhibition currently taking place at Palazzo Te from March 26 to June 26, 2022.

The exhibition, curated by Augusto Morari, rediscovers leather wall hangings, a form of wall decoration that was once very popular and is now forgotten. The Gonzagas, for example, were accustomed to commissioning leathers of all types and patterns from Naples, Rome, Bologna, Ferrara, and especially Venice. Even Palazzo Te was furnished with these hangings.

The Walls of Wonders. Court Leathers between the Gonzagas and Europe, developed in seven sections, features loans from various museum institutions including Palazzo Madama in Turin, the Correr Museum in Venice, Stibbert and Mozzi Bardini in Florence, and the Museumslandschaft Hessen in Kassel.

Me, Her, The Other. Portraits and Self-Portraits of Women Artists at the Magazzini delle Idee until June 26, 2022

Trieste hosts at the Magazzini delle Idee, Me, Her, The Other – Portraits and Self-Portraits of Women Artists.

Until June 26, 2022, the exhibition curated by Guido Comis in collaboration with Simona Cossu and Alessandra Paulitti, retraces the role of women and their conception through extraordinary images from Wanda Wulz to Cindy Sherman, from Florence Henri to Nan Goldin.

The self-portraits, divided into a series of thematic sections that relate works created even many years apart, symbolize a form of introspection and self-exploration.
