The UMBRIABOX (www.umbriabox.it) has been presented as a new way to discover Umbria through high-resolution 360-degree videos and photographs, virtual tours, and educational content from some of the region’s most significant museums. This innovative museum experience project has been promoted by the municipalities that are part of the Terre e Musei dell’Umbria network, which includes the cities of Amelia, Bettona, Bevagna, Cannara, Cascia, Deruta, Marsciano, Montefalco and Umbertide, as well as the municipalities of Trevi, Montone and Spello. The project has been realized with the contribution of the Regione Umbria. The cooperative company Sistema Museo has managed its design, coordination, implementation, and communication.

Panoramic views created with drones, 360-degree virtual tours, high-resolution videos and images: the UMBRIABOX project utilizes the most advanced technologies to create immersive and interactive experiences within some of the most important Umbrian museums.

Through the UMBRIAEXPLORA section of www.umbriabox.it, it is possible to virtually enter galleries and museum structures, obtain information, and discover curiosities and secrets related to the masterpieces housed there, as well as learn about the history of the twelve villages along with their artistic heritage. From mosaics and statues from the Roman era to the wonderful sculptural groups of the medieval age, from the extraordinary works of artists like Benozzo Gozzoli, Perugino, Corrado Giaquinto, Luca Signorelli to the handmade ceramic creations made over the centuries: with UMBRIABOX, visitors feel as if they can touch and see up close a significant part of the regional heritage.

A promotional tool with vast possibilities for the regional territory, it also includes a section, UMBRIADOCUMENTA, dedicated to museum education for adults and children. Through video tutorials created within Umbrian museums, users can discover the secrets of the most important artistic techniques, such as tempera, fresco, or mosaic, and follow the instructions of operators to create their own masterpieces without leaving home.

UMBRIA BOX is a dynamic and continuously evolving portal: in the coming weeks, it will be enriched with new tourism-related videos and the English version of all content.
