The new online fundraising tool is born to support the work of museums and cultural institutions.

From today, hundreds of museums on the artsupp.com portal can activate on their profile the tool that allows them to receive online donations from users.

We have chosen to release this new feature for free to support the work of museums and cultural institutions already present on Artsupp.

All profiles with an account verified by the Institution can activate the fundraising function, which allows them to receive online donations through secure payment systems that can be made with credit cards.

What is Fundraising and How Does It Work

Fundraising is a form of micro-financing aimed at realizing a shared project.

In this specific case, the institutions on the portal can promote their projects and receive financial support from users and companies. The amounts are credited directly to the institution, and donors benefit from the tax advantages derived from supporting cultural heritage.

In Anglo-Saxon countries, widespread patronage has been one of the main funding channels for cultural activities for over a century. The role of individual donations is fundamental and has been an important source of resources for the cultural sector in Great Britain for years.

The first museums to join and their projects

The Museo Nivola, located in the center of a park in the heart of Sardinia, is dedicated to the work of Costantino Nivola. The first project it shares online, titled “Love Box“, aims to provide young visitors with hygiene products and contraceptives, thus shedding light on the phenomenon of youth poverty exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The MUSMA, a museum of contemporary sculpture in the picturesque historic center of Matera, seeks user support with the project “Adopt a Sculpture“ to restore works from the collections on display to the public.

The MIC in Faenza, which houses one of the most important ceramic collections nationally and internationally, launches the campaign “A Museum for Everyone“ to support educational workshops for children and activities supporting vulnerable individuals visiting the museum.

The Fondazione Palazzo Coronini Cronberg, a cultural reference point for the Gorizia community, aims to recover a beautiful fortepiano to be reintroduced into the visitor route with the project “The Fortepiano of the Counts“.

A new cultural offering

For us at Artsupp, this important news has a dual significance.

In addition to being an effective tool to support the work of cultural institutions, useful for bridging the digital divide between large and small museums, it represents the possibility to generate a more shared and richer cultural offering at the same time.

By supporting a museum with Artsupp:

  • You help your favorite museums carry out their daily management and public opening activities
  • You contribute to the preservation and restoration of artworks
  • You support the organization of new exhibitions, events, and performances
  • You help museums grow their collections with new works
  • You support cultural and educational programs

Simplifying the informational and collaborative process that arises from the web can generate direct benefits for the world of culture.

Digital technologies will help us generate a new cultural offering, building the community of visitors and patrons of tomorrow.
