Collection at Villa Medici: the exhibition
COLLECTION is divided between two major photographic traditions: the French humanist tradition of the early 20th century and the American street photography.
The exhibition, thanks to the photographs displayed throughout the spaces of the Villa, allows visitors an in-depth and precise look at the human condition and consequently at man and his relationship with the environment that surrounds him.
There are images of urban landscapes, from metropolises like New York, as well as more peripheral and less chaotic places.
From urban landscapes to the faces and people who inhabit them, helping the visitor traverse over 20 years of photography history.

Additionally, a wonderful series containing about forty prints by Saul Leiter is a testament to the transition from black and white photography to color: a true turning point in the history of modern photography.
Collection continues with the modern reportage of Gilles Caron, followed by Luc Delahaye, Mohamed Bourouissa, Véronique Ellena, and Laura Henno.
