Andy Warhol et Naples <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Andy Warhol<\/a><\/strong>, artiste am\u00e9ricain et fondateur de la Pop-Art<\/strong>, visite pour la premi\u00e8re fois Naples<\/strong> en 1975 \u00e0 l’invitation de Lucio Amelio<\/strong>, galeriste, collectionneur et curateur. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les deux hommes s’\u00e9taient rencontr\u00e9s \u00e0 New York<\/strong> l’ann\u00e9e pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente et \u00e9taient rapidement devenus amis, au point que Warhol<\/strong> repr\u00e9senta Amelio<\/strong> dans plusieurs de ses s\u00e9rigraphies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Warhol<\/strong> saisit imm\u00e9diatement le charme de la ville de Naples<\/strong>, au point de la qualifier de New York italienne<\/strong>, victime du m\u00eame d\u00e9clin mais aussi de la m\u00eame vitalit\u00e9. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aujourd’hui, pour confirmer le lien \u00e9troit entre l’artiste et la ville napolitaine, l’une de ses \u0153uvres les plus embl\u00e9matiques est conserv\u00e9e au Mus\u00e9e Capodimonte de Naples<\/a><\/strong>, repr\u00e9sentant justement le symbole de la ville : le V\u00e9suve.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

V\u00e9suve d’Andy Warhol<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Le color\u00e9 V\u00e9suve<\/strong> d’Andy Warhol<\/strong> a \u00e9t\u00e9 expos\u00e9 lors de sa r\u00e9trospective intitul\u00e9e “V\u00e9suve par Andy Warhol<\/strong>” qui s’est tenue au Mus\u00e9e de Capodimonte<\/strong> en 1985, organis\u00e9e et souhait\u00e9e par le m\u00eame Amelio.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Warhol<\/strong>, suivant l’esth\u00e9tique de la Pop Art<\/strong>, caract\u00e9ris\u00e9e par des couleurs vives et fortes, r\u00e9interpr\u00e8te l’image du volcan selon ces nouveaux canons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pour r\u00e9aliser l’\u0153uvre<\/strong>, il s’inspira d’une carte postale et en cr\u00e9a dix-huit \u00e9ditions<\/strong>, toutes r\u00e9alis\u00e9es \u00e0 la main, chacune avec des couleurs et des tons diff\u00e9rents pour immortaliser le volcan<\/strong> \u00e0 diff\u00e9rents moments et chercher l’effet d’une \u00e9ruption. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le retour \u00e0 la peinture \u00e0 la main ne doit pas \u00eatre sous-estim\u00e9 : Warhol<\/strong> avait abandonn\u00e9 cette technique depuis plusieurs ann\u00e9es et la r\u00e9introduire pour les \u0153uvres d\u00e9di\u00e9es \u00e0 Naples souligne certainement un attachement et un engagement \u00e9motionnel plus fort.<\/p>\n\n\n

Pourquoi le V\u00e9suve <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019\u0153uvre<\/strong>, qui n’est rien d’autre qu’une image st\u00e9r\u00e9otyp\u00e9e du V\u00e9suve<\/strong>, acquiert une nouvelle dimension gr\u00e2ce aux couleurs vives utilis\u00e9es par Warhol.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

L’ extr\u00eame charge chromatique<\/strong> de l’\u0153uvre n’est pas un hasard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elle veut \u00eatre une m\u00e9taphore<\/strong> \u00e0 la fois du caract\u00e8re imp\u00e9tueux d’une ville comme Naples<\/strong> et de la violence destructrice<\/strong> dont la nature<\/strong> peut \u00eatre capable. Ce dualisme fut l’un des principaux motifs pour lesquels Warhol s’est rapproch\u00e9 artistiquement de la ville italienne et a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de la rendre protagoniste de son art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L’artiste emprunte donc un th\u00e8me r\u00e9current de l’iconographie traditionnelle du vedutisme napolitain<\/strong>, d\u00e9j\u00e0 peint par de grands artistes du pass\u00e9 comme Joseph Wright of Derby<\/strong> et JMW Turner<\/strong>, et le rend Pop gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l’irruence du geste et \u00e0 la force expressive des couleurs industrielles qui rendent l’image du V\u00e9suve<\/strong> en \u00e9ruption une pr\u00e9sence mena\u00e7ante et oppressante. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
