Dario Argento The Exhibit from April 6 to January 16, 2023 – National Museum of Cinema in Turin<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dario Argento<\/strong>, undisputed master of cinema<\/strong>, screenwriter<\/strong>, and producer<\/strong>, is at the National Museum of Cinema in Turin<\/a><\/strong>, located in the stunning setting of the Mole Antonelliana<\/strong>, until January 16, 2023<\/strong> with “Dario Argento – The Exhibit\u201d<\/a> curated by Domenico De Gaetano and Marcello Garofalo. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Dario Argento – The Exhibit\u201d<\/strong> chronologically retraces the entire production and career<\/strong> of Dario Argento<\/strong>, from his debut with the film The Bird with the Crystal Plumage<\/strong> in 1970, to his latest work Dark Glasses<\/strong> in 2022<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dario Argento<\/strong>, a director straddling auteur cinema and avant-garde, is presented in the exhibition through a summary of the themes<\/strong> that recur in his works, thanks to curiosities, quotes, photographs, film sequences, sketches, posters, costumes, mechanized creatures, and soundtracks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Dario Argento – The Exhibit\u201d<\/strong> examines the aspects that over the years have contributed to defining the unique aesthetic that has made him a standout in the world of cinema. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also on display<\/strong> are some of the works from high fashion houses<\/strong> that created costumes and jewelry for Argento<\/strong>, along with creations from Italian masters of special effects. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Masterpieces of Modern Photography 1900-1940 until June 26, 2022 – CAMERA Italian Center for Photography <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

CAMERA – Italian Center for Photography<\/a><\/strong> presents \u201cMasterpieces of Modern Photography 1900-1940. The Thomas Walther Collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York<\/a>.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turin<\/strong> hosts the exhibition until June 26, 2022<\/strong> and features an extraordinary selection of over 230 photographs<\/strong> from the first half of the 20th century, considered absolute masterpieces<\/strong> created by 121 legendary photographers.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Masterpieces of Modern Photography 1900-1940<\/strong> brings together names and iconic images of American photographers such as Alfred Stieglitz, Edward Steichen, Paul Strand, Walker Evans, and Edward Weston<\/a><\/strong> and Europeans<\/strong> like Karl Blossfeldt, Brassa\u00ef, Henri Cartier-Bresson<\/a>, Andr\u00e9 Kert\u00e9sz, and August Sander<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Walther collection<\/strong>, from which the exhibition takes shape, also collects and highlights the work of female photographers such as Berenice Abbott, Marianne Breslauer, Claude Cahun, Lore Feininger, Florence Henri, Irene Hoffmann, Lotte Jocobi, Lee Miller, Tina Modotti<\/a>, Germaine Krull, Lucia Moholy, and Leni Riefenstahl. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the masterpieces of Bauhaus photography<\/strong> (L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Moholy-Nagy, Iwao Yamawaki<\/strong>), constructivism (El Lissitzky, Aleksandr Rod\u010denko, Gustav Klutsis<\/strong>), and surrealism<\/strong> (Man Ray<\/a>, Maurice Tabard, Raoul Ubac<\/strong>), we also find the futurist<\/strong> experiments of Anton Giulio Bragaglia<\/strong> and the abstract compositions of Luigi Veronesi<\/strong>, two of the Italians present in the exhibition along with Wanda Wulz<\/strong> and Tina Modotti<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Palazzo Madama <\/a><\/strong> presents the exhibition Invitation to Pompeii<\/a><\/strong>, curated by Palazzo Madama<\/strong> and the Archaeological Park of Pompeii.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition<\/strong> is a true invitation to visit the houses of Pompeii<\/strong>, imagining what they might have originally been like and capturing the atmospheres, furnishings, everyday objects<\/strong>, and even the most fashionable decorations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition path<\/strong> unfolds within the Senate Hall<\/strong> and then through the most representative environments of the most luxurious houses of Pompeii in the 1st century AD.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visiting the exhibition<\/strong> is an opportunity to dive into the past, back to 79 AD<\/strong>, the year when Vesuvius brought an end to one of the most prosperous civilizations of antiquity.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, only a part of Pompeii<\/strong> remains, which, despite its invaluable historical value, is the skeleton of its ancient splendor. Invito a Pompei<\/strong> manages to stop time, allowing us to relive what daily life was like at the foot of the Vesuvius.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition path<\/strong> opens with the model from the late 19th century of the House of the Tragic Poet,<\/strong> a work that has inspired the imagination of travelers and artists of the Grand Tour for centuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition<\/strong> features over 120 works<\/strong>, including furnishings, statues, jewelry, bronzes, glassware, and decorative apparatuses<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is presented to the visitor in a journey through domestic spaces<\/strong> such as the atrium, the triclinium, the peristyle with the garden, and the bedrooms. The exhibition concludes with the dramatic casts<\/strong> of some victims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition spans a remarkable 70 years<\/strong> of Italian drawing history<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It begins with Perugino<\/a><\/strong>, under whose guidance Raphael<\/a><\/strong> studied, and continues with the artistic contributions of other names from the Renaissance<\/strong> such as Giulio Romano<\/a>, Parmigianino, Peruzzi, Polidoro da Caravaggio, Bandinelli, Girolamo da Carpi.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Naturecultures. Art and Nature from Arte Povera to today<\/a>.<\/strong> From the Collections<\/strong> of the Foundation for Modern and Contemporary Art CRT<\/strong> to the Castle of Rivoli<\/strong>, it is on display at the Officine Grandi Riparazioni<\/a><\/strong> in Turin<\/a><\/strong> until September 22.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition<\/strong> showcases works by artists belonging to the Arte Povera<\/strong> movement, active in Italy since the late 1960s and which included many Turinese and Piedmontese representatives<\/strong>, such as Mario Merz<\/strong> along with his wife Marisa<\/strong> and Michelangelo Pistoletto<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to them, we also find Giovanni Anselmo, Pier Paolo Calzolari, Piero Gilardi, Amar Kanwar, Jannis Kounellis<\/a>, Agnieszka Kurant, Richard Long, Mario Merz, Marisa Merz, Giuseppe Penone<\/a>, and Gilberto Zorio<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The arte povera<\/strong> movement was characterized by the use of elementary techniques and equally common materials, becoming somewhat of an anticipation of contemporary ecology<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are free artists<\/strong>, not confined within defined artistic expressions but ready to experiment through the free crossing of different mediums such as painting, sculpture, performance, film, and photography<\/strong> in the broadest possible conception of installation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to the synergy between the Museum and the Foundation, Turin<\/strong> and Piedmont have been able to build, in just over twenty years, one of the most significant collections of contemporary art in the world, shared publicly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
