Palazzo Coronini Cronberg<\/a><\/strong> is a historic residence<\/strong> in the city of Gorizia<\/a><\/strong>, home to the Fondazione Palazzo Coronini Cronberg<\/a><\/strong> since 1990.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Foundation<\/strong> was established at the behest of the last member of the family, Count Guglielmo Coronini Cronberg<\/strong>, with the aim of opening his considerable heritage<\/strong> to the entire city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Palazzo Coronini Cronberg<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Palazzo Coronini Cronberg<\/strong> was probably built between 1593 and 1598, although there are no certain references regarding the dates. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The design of the residence, commissioned by Carlo Zengraf<\/strong>, secretary of the Provincial States<\/strong> on behalf of the House of Austria<\/strong>, is attributed to the architect Giulio Baldigara.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On October 7, 1820, the Palace<\/strong> was purchased by Count Michele Coronini Cronberg<\/strong>, who renovated it, significantly expanding its spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Only many years later, following the end of World War II, did Count Guglielmo<\/strong> begin to consider the idea of turning the family residence into a museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project took shape, as per his wishes, after his death, which occurred in Vienna on September 13, 1990.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Fortepiano of the Counts, a fascinating story<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Recently, the Foundation<\/strong> launched a fundraising<\/strong> project on its Artsupp.com<\/a><\/strong> profile aimed at the restoration<\/strong> of an extremely fascinating piece included in the collection<\/strong>: an 18th-century fortepiano<\/strong>, of unknown origin but carrying with it some extremely suggestive hypotheses about its history.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on its shape, extension, and dimensions, it could be compared to those made by Anton Walter, Andreas Stein, and Michael Weis<\/strong>, the main builders of such instruments in the German and Austrian context. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fortepiano<\/strong> also resembles the one depicted in the portrait of Charlotte Cobenzl<\/strong>, displayed in one of the rooms of the Palace. The Cobenzl<\/strong> family was related to the Coronini<\/strong>, and upon the death without direct descendants of their last member, Giovanni Luigi, all the assets were inherited by Michele Coronini Cronberg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adding to the charm<\/strong> of the instrument<\/strong>, it should be noted that Charlotte<\/strong> was one of the first students of Mozart<\/strong> and her salon, frequented by artists, musicians, and literati<\/strong>, was quite renowned in the high society of Vienna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It could therefore be plausible that the Fortepiano comes from the assets of the Cobenzl family.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The restoration<\/strong>, to which all citizens of Gorizia<\/strong> and beyond can contribute concretely, is the only way to solve this and all the other mysteries surrounding it, recovering its enormous historical and cultural value<\/strong>, as well as its musicological significance.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every contribution<\/strong> received will be fundamental<\/strong> for the repair and consolidation<\/strong> of the instrument, restoring it to its former glory and ensuring that future generations can appreciate its history and music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An invaluable collection<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Coronini family<\/strong> was one of the oldest and most influential noble families<\/strong> in the city and, not by chance, significantly contributed to the development of the arts, literature, and even music.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Count Guglielmo<\/strong>, in particular, always passionate about art history<\/strong>, traveled through Italy and Europe, acquiring various art objects<\/strong> that today constitute the collection of the Palace.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
