Faenza<\/a><\/strong> is known internationally for the production of ceramics and majolica,<\/strong> commonly referred to as Faience.<\/strong> The city<\/strong> began its artistic and architectural development as early as the Renaissance<\/strong> and continued through the Baroque period<\/strong>, eventually becoming a reference point for Neoclassicism<\/strong> both in Italy and Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MIC, an expression of ceramic culture worldwide<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Faenza<\/strong> is home to the MIC – International Museum of Ceramics<\/a><\/strong>, which is one of the largest and most renowned in the field: UNESCO<\/strong> has recognized the MIC as an expression of ceramic art in the world<\/strong> and included it among the sites promoting cultures of peace.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here, works<\/strong> from various parts of the world are displayed: Syria, Iran, Egypt, Turkey, South America, and the Far East<\/strong>, with a collection that includes approximately 60,000 works<\/strong>, both ancient and contemporary<\/strong>, exhibited within almost 15,000 square meters of museum space.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MIC<\/strong> is a true excellence in the national landscape,<\/strong> as evidenced by the incomparable masterpieces it houses: Italian Renaissance ceramics,<\/strong> works by Picasso<\/a>, Matisse, Chagall<\/a>, L\u00e9ger, Burri<\/a>, Fontana<\/a><\/strong>, and countless other artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Museum<\/strong> also carries out numerous activities related to its artistic mission<\/strong>: it hosts a Historical Library,<\/strong> containing over 60,000 texts on ceramics<\/strong>, a Restoration Laboratory, photographic and documentary archives,<\/strong> and clay experiences at the Play with Art Educational Laboratory,<\/strong> founded by Bruno Munari, along with guided tours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the aim of making ceramic culture even more participatory<\/strong> and inclusive<\/strong>, the MIC<\/strong> launches the fundraising project A MUSEUM FOR EVERYONE.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The funds raised will be essential<\/strong> for the organization, by the Play with Ceramics<\/strong> department – founded by Munari<\/strong> himself – of new workshops<\/strong> for all students, delving even deeper into the cultural traditions<\/strong> of the various regions included in the museum’s journey, such as Africa, North Africa, China, and the Middle East.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A MUSEUM FOR EVERYONE<\/strong> also aims to enhance the visit paths<\/strong> dedicated to the most vulnerable individuals,<\/strong> including those with physical and cognitive disabilities.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this reason, copies have been specially made to allow visits for blind or visually impaired individuals. Additionally, once completed, Braille texts<\/strong> will be added, and guided tours can be followed in sign language<\/strong> via a tablet or smartphone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
