Robert Doisneau at CAMERA – Italian Center for Photography until February 14, 2023<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In Turin<\/a><\/strong>, at the spaces of CAMERA – Italian Center for Photography<\/a><\/strong>, the highly successful retrospective dedicated to the French master Robert Doisneau<\/strong>, one of the most important photographers of the 20th century<\/strong>, runs until February 14, 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Robert Doisneau exhibition<\/a><\/strong> features over 130 photographs<\/strong> by the author in a journey through some of his most iconic images<\/strong> alongside lesser-known shots, selected from the more than 450,000 negatives included in his archive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robert Doisneau<\/strong> is recognized as one of the fathers of French humanist photography and street photojournalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition in Turin<\/strong> narrates his career through recurring themes he addressed over more than fifty years with his camera always ready to shoot: war<\/strong> and liberation<\/strong>, work<\/strong>, love<\/strong>, children’s games<\/strong>, leisure<\/strong>, music<\/strong>, fashion<\/strong>, and artists<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Doisneau<\/strong> tells the story of his times through a disobedient and curious gaze<\/strong>: his images, seemingly surprisingly spontaneous scenes, depict an era in which people seek a new balance within a transforming society, with its rituals and contradictions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
