Pino Pascali<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

Pino Pascali<\/a><\/strong> was born in Bari<\/strong> in 1935.<\/p>\n\n\n

In 1956 he moved to Rome<\/strong>, which would become his adopted city where he joined the artists’ circle around the Galleria l’Attico.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

Eclectic and multifaceted<\/strong> artist, Pascali is now considered one of the main representatives of arte povera<\/strong>, alongside Boetti, Pistoletto, Kounellis, Merz, Mattiacci, Tacchi.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

He died prematurely after a motorcycle accident in 1968, at the height of his career.<\/p>\n\n\n

Pascali and autobiographical art<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

Understanding the artistic research of Pascali<\/strong> is crucial to grasp his autobiographical side.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

He moved to Albania<\/strong> with his family due to his father’s job as a policeman. There, he gained insight into the realities of war. Later, with the series “arms”<\/strong>, war became a recurring theme, albeit without political connotations.<\/p>\n\n\n

Pascali presents arms only as a reminder of the games of his childhood, the art itself becomes a weapon for the whole world<\/em><\/strong>, as Picasso used to say.<\/p>\n\n\n

Pascali’s artworks become a tool for reflection<\/strong> on what is art and what is not, building relationships, remembering, and rewriting history.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

Blue Widow: Pascali and the reconstruction of nature.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

Pascali created the Blue Widow<\/strong> in 1965<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n

It is a large spider.<\/p>\n\n\n

It is a strange, unreal, and fantastic creature.<\/strong> It belongs to Pascali’s last unfinished series titled “Nature Reconstruction”<\/strong>, where the artist focuses on the interplay between industrial materials and organic forms.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

In the \u201cReconstruction of Nature\u201d<\/strong>, Pascali employs industrially produced materials, such as nylon, steel wool, or acrylic fur, to create other worlds and creatures.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

To create his Blue Widow<\/strong>, Pascali<\/strong> chose a synthetic material<\/strong> and ironizes the monumentality and “untouchable” nature of classical artworks, transforming it into the realm of playfulness and interactivity.<\/p>\n\n\n
