Eve Arnold, eclectic photographer<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Eve Arnold<\/a><\/strong> was the first woman<\/strong>, alongside Inge Morath<\/strong>, to work for Magnum Photos in 1951<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout her career, nothing short of extraordinary, it was her determination, curiosity, and desire to escape any stereotype or category<\/strong> of any kind that allowed her to produce such eclectic works<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eve Arnold<\/strong>, in addition to capturing the great movie stars<\/strong>, including Marilyn Monroe<\/a>, Rita Hayworth<\/strong> and Marlene Dietrich<\/strong>, was also the author of investigative reports<\/strong> where she addressed themes and issues central to the public debate<\/strong> of yesterday and today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition<\/strong> with its 170 images,<\/strong> many of which have never been exhibited before, presents the complete work of the photographer<\/strong> starting from the first black and white shots<\/strong> of New York<\/strong> in the 1950s to the last color works, created when she was already advanced in age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The photographs of Arnold<\/strong> tackle themes and issues such as racism in the United States, women’s emancipation, and the interaction between different cultures of the world.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The career of Arnold<\/strong> can be seen as a tribute to women’s emancipation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arnold<\/strong> was indeed particularly sensitive to the condition of women in her time.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The subjects of her photos are workers, mothers, girls, divas, nuns, models, students<\/strong>. The photographer never slips into stereotypes or categorizations: she only wants to know, understand, and tell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition Eve Arnold in Turin<\/strong> aims to celebrate the work<\/strong> of this author, also highlighted through numerous archival documents, texts, contact sheets, books, and magazines<\/strong> that enrich the discovery of a true legend of photography.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
