Bologna<\/a><\/strong> inaugurated the Museo Ottocento<\/a><\/strong> on April 20<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Museum<\/a><\/strong>, located in the heart of the city center<\/strong>, just a stone’s throw from the International Museum and Library of Music<\/strong>, the Davia Bargellini Museum<\/strong>, and Casa Morandi<\/strong>, documents the main stylistic currents of the century studied by artists who frequented Bologna<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The <\/strong>Museum<\/strong><\/a> aims to be a new cultural center<\/strong> for the city, where public meetings<\/strong>, conferences<\/strong>, study days, and temporary exhibitions<\/strong> will also be organized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Collection of the Museo Ottocento<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Museum<\/a><\/strong> also hosts an interesting permanent collection<\/strong>, rich in Bolognese representatives<\/strong> active between the mid-19th century and the early decades of the 20th century.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Displayed at the Museo Ottocento<\/a><\/strong> are works by Giovanni Paolo Bedini, Luigi Busi, Fabio Fabbi, Mario De Maria, Alfredo Protti, and many others.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In total, approximately 85 works<\/strong> are exhibited, divided into twelve thematic sections<\/strong> distinguished by the technique of execution: watercolors, oil paintings, watercolors, drawings, and so on.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taken as a whole, the works<\/strong> of the Museo Ottocento<\/a><\/strong> represent the so-called “long century”<\/strong> that spans from historical painting to Naturalism, Orientalism, Symbolism, and Secession,<\/strong> with particular attention to portraiture and religious-themed works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Museo Ottocento for the Rediscovery of the Territory<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Museo Ottocento<\/a><\/strong> offers a path<\/strong> that unfolds through a territorial perspective<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The section dedicated to Naturalism<\/strong> will showcase, among others, two landscapes by Coriolano Vighi<\/strong>, while also focusing on the work of the self-taught Luigi Bertelli<\/strong>, which will be fundamental for the evolution of Bolognese painting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Straddling the two centuries, the works of Fabio Fabbi<\/strong>, Augusto Majani<\/strong>, and Alfredo Savini<\/strong> stand out, protagonists of the Fin de Si\u00e8cle<\/strong> section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Continuing along the path<\/strong>, the room dedicated to Symbolism<\/strong> presents several works by Augusto Sezanne<\/strong>, while representing the Secession<\/strong>, a breakaway movement that made headlines in the early 20th century in major European cities, starting from the Viennese example, are artists such as Carlo Corsi, Emma Bonazzi, Guglielmo Pizzirani, Giovanni Romagnoli<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
