id=\"the-exhibition-of-the-year-caravaggio-2025\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The exhibition of the year<\/strong>: <strong>Caravaggio 2025<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Caravaggio 2025 is undoubtedly <strong>one of the most important exhibitions of the year:<\/strong> a project among the most ambitious ever dedicated to <a href=\"https:\/\/artsupp.com\/it\/artisti\/caravaggio\"><strong>Michelangelo Merisi<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Caravaggio 2025<\/strong> therefore brings to <strong>Rome<\/strong> an <strong>exceptional number of autographed paintings<\/strong> and a journey through works that are usually not available to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At <strong>Palazzo Barberini<\/strong>, you will class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The paintings on display: exceptional loans<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the works included in <strong>Caravaggio 2025<\/strong>, the <strong>Portrait of Maffeo Barberini<\/strong>, for the first time displayed alongside other paintings by Merisi, and the <strong>Ecce Homo<\/strong>, on loan from the <strong>Prado Museum in Madrid<\/strong>, returning to Italy for the first time in centuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>loans are truly exceptional<\/strong>: the <strong>Saint Catherine from the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid<\/strong>, a masterpiece that was once in the <strong>Barberini collections<\/strong> and is thus returning home, and also <strong>Martha and Mary from the Detroit Institute of Arts,<\/strong> for which the artist portrayed the same model as the <strong>Judith preserved at Palazzo Barberini<\/strong>, all displayed together for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:19px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1009\" be the opportunity to see together again the three paintings commissioned by the banker Ottavio Costa<strong>, Judith and Holofernes from Palazzo Barberini, the Saint John the Baptist from the Nelson-Atkins Museum in Kansas City, and the Saint Francis in Ecstasy from the Wadsworth Atheneum of Art in Hartford,<\/strong> along with works related to the history of the Barberini collection, such as the <strong>Bari from the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Completing the selection is the important loan granted by Intesa Sanpaolo: <strong>The Martyrdom of
