In the night between the 8 and the 9 May 2019,<\/strong> Banksy <\/strong> painted on a wall of a historic building in Venice in the Dorsoduro district “The Migrant Child”,<\/strong> a graffito of a child holding a pink smoke signal rocket.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n

<\/div>\n\n

The artwork, from 2019 to today, has suffered the wear and tear of time and water being positioned close to one of the busiest canals in Venice<\/a>, Rio Novo. <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n

Banksy’s Restoration by Zaha Hadid Architects<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

What’s the solution? Temporarily remove it to restore (and save) it. <\/p>\n\n

As it has been decided by Banca Ifis<\/strong>, owner of the building, who called a tender for the restoration project which was then won by the well-known architectural firm Zaha Hadid Architects.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The artwork by Banksy <\/strong>will be removed from the wall <\/strong>on which it finds itself to be restored, and also all the rest of the building, in not exactly brilliant conditions, will be made safe and renovated.<\/p>\n\n

<\/div>\n\n

The Palazzo de Il Bambino Migrante also becomes an exhibition space <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

Once the restorations will be done, “Il Bambino Migrante”<\/strong> will be repositioned on the facade of the building. <\/p>\n\n

The bank, in addition to transforming the building into its headquarters, will also set up an exhibition space inside.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n
