Es ist eine R\u00fcckkehr nach Hause f\u00fcr das Vierte Stand<\/a><\/strong> von Giuseppe Pellizza da Volpedo<\/a><\/strong> in der GAM Galleria d’Arte Moderna<\/a> in Mailand<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Das Werk<\/strong>, das 1901 geschaffen wurde, gilt als ein Meisterwerk des Divisionismus<\/strong>, von dem nur sehr wenige bekannt sind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Szene<\/strong>, die dargestellt wird – eine Gruppe von Arbeitern, die am Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts ihre Rechte einfordert – ist so bekannt geworden, dass sie als eine Art Pop-Ikone betrachtet wird.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Warum Vierter Stand?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Im 19. Jahrhundert<\/strong> bezeichnete der Begriff Vierter Stand<\/strong> die \u00e4rmere soziale Klasse<\/strong> des Volkes, die haupts\u00e4chlich aus Arbeitern bestand. Die drei Figuren, die sich vor der Menge abheben, zwei M\u00e4nner und eine Frau mit einem Kind im Arm, sind Symbole der unteren Klassen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Obwohl sie in einfachen Kleidern gekleidet sind, spiegeln ihre Augen den Stolz und die Entschlossenheit derjenigen wider, die ihre Rechte einfordern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Der Vierte Stand: die Studien und das Werk<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Bevor das Vierte Stand<\/strong> so entstand, wie wir es heute bewundern, schuf Pellizza da Volpedo<\/strong> mehrere Vorstudien: Hungerbotschafter (1892),<\/strong> Der Weg der Arbeiter (1899)<\/strong> und Die Flut<\/strong> (1895), die derzeit in der Pinacoteca di Brera in Mailand<\/strong> aufbewahrt wird.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leider blieb Die Flut<\/strong> aufgrund des Staatsmassakers, das vom General Bava Beccaris<\/strong> w\u00e4hrend der Unruhen in Mailand<\/strong> Anfang Mai 1898 angeordnet wurde, unvollendet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pellizza<\/strong> widmete sich jedoch, ersch\u00fcttert von den Toten, die durch das Milit\u00e4r verursacht wurden, einer noch monumentalen Version des Werkes, an dem er fast obsessiv arbeitete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So entstand das Vierte Stand<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Protagonist ist die Masse der Arbeiter<\/strong>, die voranschreitet, den Streik fortf\u00fchrt und gleichzeitig die St\u00e4rke und Macht<\/strong> erlangt, um \u00fcber ihren Lohn zu verhandeln.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Das Licht<\/strong> spielt eine symbolische Rolle<\/strong> im Gem\u00e4lde: Es trifft die M\u00e4nner, erhellt jedoch die Frau, deren Bild an eine christliche Maternit\u00e4t erinnern kann. Die Menge ist im Hintergrund unsch\u00e4rfer und dunkler. Intensiver ist das Licht an der Spitze des Zuges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die R\u00fcckkehr zur GAM<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Das Vierte Stand<\/strong> hat eine ziemlich bewegte Geschichte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Das Gem\u00e4lde<\/strong>, einmal vollendet, wurde vom K\u00fcnstler f\u00fcr mehrere Ausstellungen vorgeschlagen, aber st\u00e4ndig abgelehnt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pellizza<\/strong> nahm sich im Juni 1907 das Leben und sah es nie ausgestellt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nach verschiedenen Widrigkeiten gelangte das Vierte Stand<\/strong> durch eine Volksunterst\u00fctzung zur Galleria d’Arte Moderna<\/strong>, wurde jedoch 2010 ins Museo del Novecento<\/strong> verlegt, das damals gerade er\u00f6ffnet worden war, wo es bis heute verblieb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seit Anfang Juli ist das Gem\u00e4lde “nach Hause” zur GAM<\/strong> zur\u00fcckgekehrt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hier wurde ein spezieller Bereich eingerichtet, um es unterzubringen, der genauer zwischen dem Raum 28, der die Maternit\u00e4t<\/strong><\/em> von Gaetano Previati<\/a><\/strong> zeigt, und dem Raum 30, der  Giovanni Segantini<\/a><\/strong> gewidmet ist, platziert wurde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
